The New Deal for Communities Business Network |
|
New Deal for Communities (NDC) is a 10 year government regeneration programme designed to improve the quality of life in the Wood End, Manor Farm, Henley Green and Deedmore areas of Coventry. A major part of this initiative is to provide sustainable employment and business start-up opportunities for local people, and to attract inward investment into the area.
Since 2004 the Business Network has been supporting businesses within the NDC area on the Aldermans Green, Alpha and Henley Park industrial estates. By encouraging businesses to work together to build a safe, thriving business community, companies are expanding and new jobs are being created. Improvements including security patrols, CCTV cameras, fencing, gates and environmental initiatives are all making a positive difference in the area.
More than a hundred businesses have benefitted from security and environmental improvements, business support, funding and grant advice, training courses and consultancy programmes. The Business Enterprise Centre, based at the former Eburne School site, acts as the hub of business activity. It provides a complete range of facilities for businesses and those who are interested in starting their own business.
The NDC Business Network actively encourages and supports members ofdisadvantaged and minority groups to participate in itsprogrammes
