The Business Network Trust security scheme has been operating on the Alderman’s Green Industrial Estate since 2003. It is operated by Duval Security and includes a patrol, on foot and by van, from 6pm until 6am and 24hr cover at weekends and Bank Holidays. Duval also offer key holder, alarm monitoring and lone worker checking services. There are CCTV cameras to assist with any incidents that may occur.

Businesses that were on the estate before the guarding will remember the catalogue of vandalism and burglaries that occurred on an almost daily basis. Since then a transformation has taken place so that businesses are free to concentrate on doing business rather than dealing with the consequences of crime.

The BNT Security Scheme draws funds from two main sources; voluntary contributions from companies based on the three estates and grant funding, most recently from the New Deal for Coventry (NDC) and the Coventry BID. The end of the NDC this year and the closure of the Cov-entry BID last year mean that the future of the security scheme is now entirely dependent on contributions from local companies.

Thank you to all companies who contribute to the scheme. And to those who don’t, please consider joining. We ask for a small percentage of the rateable value of your property per annum and can accept monthly payments to spread the cost.

Every now and again, we get suspicious visitors to the estates or something untoward happens that we might want others to be aware of. It is useful to get a relevant warning message around to all the local companies so that we can all be on the lookout. We have a mechanism for this which involves sending a quick email with brief details to our Security coordinator (Simon Challoner) who will then forward the relevant details to all the companies on the estates for whom we have an email address.

The information also goes to the police and to other local crime reduction organisations. Please let Simon know your email address if you wish to receive security alerts.

If you would like to;
